Barack Obama was known to run against Mitt Romey. Although, Hillary Clinton also did run against Barack Obama, it wasn't as known. Therefore, D would be the correct answer.

At the presidential election in the America, held on November 6, 2012. Barack Obama was a candidate, along with Vice President Joe Biden. They were opposed by a republican, Mitt Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts.The campaigns of both candidates were based on domestic issues, then foreign political issues of the abolition of the war in Iraq, the Iranian nuclear program and terrorism.  Both Democrats candidates won, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, winning the second term.
