3.963 us liquid gallons

Remark

It depends on where you live. In the United States the conversion factor is 3.78 L = 1 US gallon. Car lots in Canada still use the Imperial Gallon because it is larger and you get more miles to the gallon with a large gallon.

Solution

1 US gallon = 3.78 L

x US gallons = 15 L

1/x = 3.78/15            Cross multiply

3.78 x = 15               Divide by 3.78

x = 15/3.78

x = 3.968

Note: Since the question says approximately you have to round to something. I would try 4 US gallons.

An Imperial gallon is 4.5 Liters if you live in Canada or the United States.

Use the position equation given below, where s represents the height of the object (in feet), v0 represents the initial velocity
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

(a) 7.5 seconds

(b) The horizontal distance the package  travel during its descent is 1737.8 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) The given function for the height of the object is s = -16·t² + v₀·t + s₀

The initial height of the object s₀ = 900 feet

The initial vertical velocity of the object v₀_y = 0 m/s

The time it takes the package to strike the ground is found as follows;

0 = -16·t² + 0×t + 900

900 = 16·t²

t² = 900/16 = 62.25

t = √62.25 = 7.5 seconds

(b) Given that the horizontal velocity of the package is given as 158 miles/hour, we have

158 miles/hour = 231.7126 ft/s

The horizontal distance the package  covers in the 7.5 second of vertical flight = 231.7126 ft/s × 7.5 s = 1737.8445 feet = 1737.8 ft to one decimal place

The horizontal distance the package  travel during its descent = 1737.8 ft.

Tickets at the carnival cost 35 each.on Friday night the carnivals earned a total of 12,425 in ticket sales on Saturday night th
Blababa [14]

ticket sale on Saturday night is triple the ticket sale on Friday night.

Therefore

ticket sales on Saturday night = 3 x 12425 = 37275

Then

ticket sales for both nights = 12425 + 37275 = 49700

A ticket costs 35.

Let the number of people that attended the carnival on both nights be n.

Then, we have

\begin{gathered} 35n=49700 \\ \Rightarrow n=\frac{49700}{35}=1420 \end{gathered}

Therefore 1420 people attended the carnival on both nights
