The significant thing about the road described above was that it allowed armies and news to move rapidly throughout the empire. There were lodgings for the armies, and storehouses to take care of their needs while the posts made information dissemination easier to accomplish.

They argued that the federal courts would be too far away to provide justice to the average citizen.
