The length of a rectangular carpet is 4 times its width. the area of the carpet is 144 square feet. what is the length of the ca
ss7ja [257]
The length is 24 and the width is 6.

I did a little guess and check here, as when I algebraically solved it, the answers did not make sense.  However, the length (24) is 4 times the width (6), and 24 times 6 is 144, so it works!

I hope this helps.

The sum of the angle measures of any trapezoid is greater than the sum of the angle measures of any parallelogram.
Musya8 [376]

Answer:

False. Trapezoids and parallelograms are both types of quadrilaterals. 4 sided figures. The sum of a quadrilateral's angles is always equal to 360. The sum of a trapezoid's angles, as well as the sum of a parallelogram's angles, will always be equal. I hope this answers your question.

A doctor ordered 300 ml of a 10% solution,but the pharmacy only has 5% and 25% solutions. How many millimeters of each solution
NARA [144]

Answer:

We have 5% and 25% solutions and we need 300 ml of 10%.

Setting up 2 equations:

A) x + y = 300

B) .05 x + .25 y = (.10 * 300)  Multiplying A) by -.25

A) -.25x -.25y = -75  Then adding this to B) we get

-.20 x = -45

x = 225 ml .05% and we use 75 ml of 25%
