Answer:x = -9, y = -7

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation 1)  -x + 4y = -19

Equation 2)  -3x + 3y = 6

Multiply ALL of equation 1 by 3 so that both equations include -3x in it.

1)  3(-x + 4y = -19)

Simplify.-3x + 12y = -57  → equation 3

Now, subtract equation 3 from equation 2.

-3x + 12y = -57

(-)-3x + 3y = 6

Simplify.

9y = -63

Divide both sides by 9.

9y ÷ 9 = -63 ÷ 9

Simplify.

y = -7

Now that we have the value for y, simply plug in -7 for y into equation 1.

1)  -x + 4y = -19-x + 4(-7) = -19

Simplify.-x - 28 = -19

Add 28 to both sides of the equal sign.

-x - 28 + 28 = -19 + 28

Simplify.-x = 9

Divide both sides by -1.x = -9

Now we know that : x = -9, y = -7

To check our work, simply plug in -9 for x and -7 for y into equation 1.

1)  -x + 4y = -19-(-9) + 4(-7) = -19

Simplify.

9 - 28 = -19-19 = -19

Therefore, x = -9, y = -7

Hope this helped! :)

the shop has 1260 ounces of cranberry juice and 650 ounces of passion fruit juice.ifvthe juices are used to make crazy cranberry
mr_godi [17]
Given:
Each smoothie requires 20 ounces of cranberry juice and 10 ounces of passion fruit.
There are 1260 ounces of cranberry juice.
There are 650 ounces of passion fruit juice.

For the maximum servings of the smoothie, let
x = the number of 20-ounce cranberry juice used,
y = the number of 10-ounce passion fruit juice used.

The cranberry juice runs out when
20x = 1260
x = 63  servings

The passion fruit juice runs out when
10y = 650
y = 65 servings

Because x reaches, the cranberry juice runs out first after 63 servings of the smoothie.
There will be two 10-ounces = 20 ounces of the passion fruit left.

Answer:
(a) The cranberry juice runs our first.
(b) There will be 20 ounces of the passion fruit left over.

A pot of stew is placed on a stove to heat. The temperature of the liquid reaches 170°F, and then the pot is taken off the burne
belka [17]

Answer:

T =84.7\°F

Step-by-step explanation:

Newton's cooling model is:

T(t) =T_0 + (T_i-T_0)e^{-kt}

Where

t is the time in hours

T_0 is the ambient temperature

T_i is the initial temperature of the body

k=0.34

We know that:

T_0=76\°F

T_i=170\°F

Then after 7 hours the temperature of the liquid will be:

T(7) =76 + (170-76)e^{-0.34(7)}

T =84.7\°F
