the perimeter of a rectangle is 68 feet the length is 5 inches shorter than twice the width what are the dimensions of the recta
Kruka [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter formula is P = 2L + 2W. If the perimeter is given as 68 feet, then our P will be filled in with 68. If the length is "5 inches shorter than twice the width" is an expression that looks like this, keeping in mind that "shorter" means subtraction, "twice" means doubled, and the word "is" means equals:

L = "length is"

2W is "twice the width"

5 inches shorter is " - 5". Putting it all together:

L = 2W - 5. Now we can fill in the perimeter formula:

68 = 2W + 2(2W - 5) and

68 = 2W + 4W - 10 and

68 = 6W - 10 and

78 = 6W so

W = 13. The width is 13 inches and the length is

L = 2(13) - 5 so the length is

L = 21 inches.

Answer:

I'll setup the problem and you can do the calculations

Step-by-step explanation:

a.

V  = \pi( {D}^{2}  \div 4)H

V = volume; D = diameter; H = height of can

b.

Area of the Tin is the total area of the 2 Tin circles

one circle's area A is

A = \pi {D}^{2} \div 4

A = area; D = diameter

calculate A

Then multiply by 2

c.

The area of the cardboard is the circumstance of the circle

times the height

SA = \pi DH

Marcy
The school and Marcy are on the same x axis on the grid at -3 whilst Henry is the opposite end of the axis. Thus on the x axis Marcy is closer
On the y axis Henry is closer as they are both on 8 and Marcy is on 2
However overall Marcy is closer as the difference between -3 and 4 is 7 and the difference between 2 and 8 is 6

Hope this is right And hope it helps!
