Answer:

Part 1) x=71\°

Part 2) x=90\°  and y=43\°

Step-by-step explanation:

Part 1) we know that

An isosceles triangle has two equal sides and two equal interior angles

The triangle of the figure is an isosceles triangle

Remember that the sum of the interior angles in a triangle must be equal to 180 degrees

so

38\°+x\°+x\°=180\°

solve for x

2x=180-38\\2x=142\\x=71\°

Part 2) we know that

The triangle of the figure ABC is an isosceles triangle

because

AB=AC

so

m∠ABD=m∠ACD=47°

The segment AD is the height of the triangle

therefore

Angle x is a right angle

x=90\°

In the right triangle ABD

m∠ABD+y=90° -----> by complementary angles

substitute values

47\°+y=90\°\\y=90\°-47\°=43\°

Find the area of the following figure..
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

456 cm^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the height of the trapezoid first (QR):

\sqrt{37^{2} -35^{2} } = 12

QR = 12

Area:

\frac{a+b}{2} × h = \frac{35+41}{2} × 12

           = 456 cm^{2}

A book has a mass of 50 kilograms and an acceleration of 5 m/s/s. What is the force on the book?
ankoles [38]

Answer:

The force on the book is 250N.

Step-by-step explanation:

Newton's second law states that the equation for the force is:

F = ma

In which m is the mass, in kilograms, and a is the acceleration, in m/s². F is the force measured in N.

In this question:

m = 50, a = 5

So

F = ma = 50*5 = 250

The force on the book is 250N.
