A college student only saves quarters and dimes in her piggy bank. She empties out her piggy bank at the end of each month. Thi
Nadusha1986 [10]
For this case, the first thing we must do is define variables:
 x = number of quarters
 y = number of dimes
 We now write the system of equations:
 x + y = 28
 0.25x + 0.10y = 4.05
 Solving the system of equations we have:
 x = 8.33
 y = 19.66
 Rounding:
 x = 8
 y = 20
 Answer:

the college student has:

8 quarters

20 dimes

The length of 13 pink earasers lined up end to end is 29 1/4 inches. What would be the length of two earaser?
stepladder [879]
First you would want to find the length of one eraser and then multiply that by 2. To find the length of one you take the total length or all of them and divide it my the total number of them. 29 1/4 is 117/4.

(117/4) / 13 Dividing by something is the same as multiplying by the opposite.

117/4 × 1/13 = 117/52

Now you multiply by 2.

117/52 * 2/1 Cross simplify

117/26 * 1/1

117/26 inches or 4 1/2 inches.

So the question is asking to write a multiplication problem that uses two decimals that has a product greater than 0.1 but less than 0.2 and in my further computation, I would give an example of 0.5*1.5 equals 0.75.  I hope you are satisfied with my answer and feel free to ask for more
