Winston Churchill was cautious with the Soviet Union. However, he felt that the Soviet Union wanted to use the fruits of the war for its geopolitical advantage, by taking control of the occupied territories in Eastern Union. This is why Churchill said that an Iron Curtain was falling over Europe, that would divide the continent in years to come, in a capitalist-oriented Western Europe, allied with the U.S., and a socialist-oriented Eastern Europe, under the control of the Soviet Union.
