There are 7 cards with a picture of a rose and 2 cards with a picture of a daisy. Alfa keeps all the cards face down on the tabl

e with the pictures hidden and mixes them up. She then turns over one card face up and finds the picture of a rose on it. She removes this card from the table and turns over another card without looking. What is the probability that the card that Alfa turns over has a rose on it? 6 over 9 6 over 8 7 over 9 7 over 8

The answer would be 6/8 because she has already taken out one of the rose cards, so now you're only left with 8 cards. There are still 2 daisy cards, so you would subtract 8 by 2 and get 6. This makes it 6/8.

Answer: \dfrac{6}{8} or 6 over 8.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The number of card having rose on it  = 7

The number of card having daisy on it = 2

Then the total number of cards on table = 7+2=9

After removing one rose card , the total number of cards left on table = 8

The number of rose card left on table = 6

Now, the required probability is given by :-

\text{P(Rose)}=\dfrac{\text{Number of rose card }}{\text{Total cards}}\\\\\Rightarrow\text{P(Rose)}=\dfrac{6}{8}

Hence, the probability that the card that Alfa turns over has a rose on it = \dfrac{6}{8}

You have a function y= \dfrac{3}{2} \left(1+\sin  \left(\dfrac{2t+1}{2}\cdot \pi\right) \right).
Since the range of the function y=\sin x is [-1,1] you have that

-1\le \sin \left(\dfrac{2t+1}{2}\cdot \pi\right)\le 1 \\ 0\le 1+\sin \left(\dfrac{2t+1}{2}\cdot \pi\right) \le 2 \\ 0\le \dfrac{3}{2} \left(1+\sin \left(\dfrac{2t+1}{2}\cdot \pi\right) \right)\le 3.
Answer: The range of given function is [0,3] and the correct choice is C.

51 is 33 1/3 of what number?
Makovka662 [10]

1700, just use the inverse operation. The problem would look like this ( not inverse operation ) x ÷ 33 1/3 = 51

All you have to do is multiply the two numbers.

51 x 33 1/3 = 1700

Now plug it back in and check

1700 ÷ 33 1/3 does indeed equal 51.

Why are inverse relationships between operations used to solve two step inequalities?
zhenek [66]

Answer:

The goal in solving an equation is to get the variable by itself on one side of the equation and a number on the other side of the equation. To isolate the variable, we must reverse the operations acting on the variable. We do this by performing the inverse of each operation on both sides of the equation.

Reverse addition and subtraction (by subtracting and adding) outside parentheses. Reverse multiplication and division (by dividing and multiplying) outside parentheses. When multiplying or dividing by a negative number, flip the inequality sign. It does not matter if the number being divided is positive or negative

It's necessary to apply inverse operations on both sides of the equals signs so that you can solve for the variable and balance the equation.

Multi-step inequalities are solved using the same processes that work for solving equations with one exception. When you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, you must reverse the inequality symbol. (Much like when you divide by a negative number, the sign of the inequality must flip! Here's why: When you multiply both sides by a negative value you make the side that is greater have a "bigger" negative number, which actually means it is now less than the other side!)

Explain how solving 4x < -16 is different from solving -4x< 16.
nalin [4]

Answer:

Dividing by 4 and -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Solving 4x < -16 is different from solving -4x< 16, because for 4x < -16, you are dividing by a positive 4 on both sides, but for -4x< 16, you are dividing by -4 on both sides.
