Answer:

3.033

Explanation:

Outstanding shares 350,000

Shares of common stock issued 450,000

Net income $1,160,000

Hence;

$350,000 X 8/12 = $233,333

$450,000 X 4/12 = $150,000

$233,333+150,000=$383,333

$1,160,000/ $383,333 = 3.033

Twin Rivers' 2017 earnings per common share, rounded to the nearest penny is 3.033

Answer: 3.03

Explanation:

GIVEN the following ;

YEAR 2017:

Number of shares issued and outstanding throughout the year = 350,000.

Number of shares issued on September 1, 2017 (4 months to year end) = 100,000

Net income for the year (December 31, 2017) = $1,160,000

Earning per common share for the year 2017:

(Net income ÷Total Number of shares)

Total number of shares:

350,000 + 100,000 × (4÷12)

350,000 + 33333.3333 = 383333.33

$1,160,000 ÷ 383333.333 = 3.026

Earning per share = 3.03

Rashid [163]

Answer: True

Explanation:

Capital budgeting is the method used in the planning process in the organisations used to evaluate the long term project investing. Security analysis is the method of determining the proper value of debt, equity or hybrid securities of an organisation.

In simple words capital budgeting is an evaluation method and security analysis is the valuation method. Capital budgeting is done fro the data that is usually expected in nature whereas security analysis is done on the data which already exists in market.

Security analysis is done for valuing the securities thus the cash flows are given and we have to use that data for valuation purposes but in capital budgeting we can influence the cash flows as we have an objective to achieve .

romanna [79]

Answer:

For complete understanding lets first make EPU (Equivalent Production Unit)

                                                             Direct Material     Conversion

Units completed &transferred out         6,800                      6,800

Closing WIP                                               500                        100(500*20%)

Total units                                                7,300                       6,900

Closing WIP units = Opening WIP +During the year - units completed

                              = 700                 +     6,600           - 6,800

                              =500 units

On the basis of weighted average method following will be cost per unit:

Total Direct material cost/unit = (70,000 + 633,600)/7,300  = 96.3835

Total conversion cost/unit =(4,410+53,520+80,280(53,520*150%))/6,900=20.0304

Therefore, following would be the entries

WIP                      767,400

Material                               633,600

Conversion                          133.800 (53,520+80,280)

Finished goods    791,615 (96.3838+20.0304)*6,800

WIP                                        791,615

Working for closing unit

Material (500*96.3835) = 48,191

Conversion (500*20%*20.0304) = 2003.043

A friend of Mr. Richards recently won a law suit for $30 million. They have the ability to either take the payments over 10 year
denis23 [38]

Answer:

Instructions are listed below.

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

A friend of Mr. Richards recently won a law suit for $30 million. They can either take the payments over 10 years or settle today for cash of $25 million. Mr. Richard is optimistic that he can earn a 6% return on the money and that they should settle for $25 million today and he will invest it for them.

First, we need to find the present value of the 30 million.

To do that we need to calculate the final value.

FV= {A*[(1+i)^n-1]}/i

A= annual deposit

FV= {3,000,000*[(1.06^10)-1]}/0.06= 39,542,385

PV= FV/(1+i)^n= 39,542,385/1.06^10= 22,080,261

B) Now we know that the present value of option B is higher. One dollar today is better than one dollar tomorrow. It is better to receive the money now to invest it.

When economists speak of a deadweight loss, they are referring to?
nadezda [96]
Deadweight loss is a type of economic inefficiency when a good or service is not at its economic equilibrium (where supply equals demand). This loss may be experienced because of a tax or subsidy, or because of market power, such as a monopoly. Economists refer to deadweight loss when they want to show the negative effects of certain policy decisions that are less than optimal.
