The general formula for a line is y=mx+c, where m is the gradient (slope) and c is the intercept.
We can extrapolate c from the graph directly - it intercepts the y axis at -1, so c has a value of -1.
The gradient can be calculated by determining what the y value changes by for each value of x. Since this evidently has a fraction gradient, it's easier to take whole numbers.
We can see a triangle with whole numbers - from (-3,0) to (0,-1). The difference in x is +3 and the difference in y is -1. Dividing these gives us -1/3.

Therefore, the gradient of the graph (i.e. m) is -1/3
Putting these together:

\boxed {y= \frac{-1}{3}x-1}

The distance between the library and town hall is 735 ft the actual distance is 612 ft what is the percent error. Round your ans
tatyana61 [14]

well, we know the actual distance is 612, however the estimate is 735, is off by 735 - 612 = 123.

now if we take 612 to be the 100%, what is 123 off of it in percentage?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 612&100\\ 123&x \end{array}\implies \cfrac{612}{123}=\cfrac{100}{x}\implies \cfrac{204}{41}=\cfrac{100}{x}\implies 204x=4100 \\\\\\ x = \cfrac{4100}{204}\implies x = \cfrac{1025}{51}\implies x \approx 20.098

Which of the following illustrates the truth value of the given conditional statement if 6*3=18, then 4+8=20
denis-greek [22]
Conditional statement represents two statements, the "p" and the "q". Where p is the hypothesis and q is the conclusion.

The table of conditional statement:
(p)     (q)     (p -> q)
 T       T          T
 T       F          F
 F       T          T
 F       F          F

As shown on the table, (p -> q) can only be false if the "p statement" is true while the "q statement" is false.

The given states that, "If 6*3 = 18, then 8+4 = 20",
set p: 6*3 = 18
      q: 8+4 = 20

Since p is true and q is false, then the truth value (p->q) is false.
