Answer: 13/24 is the answer in its simplest form ( 0.54)

Solution

Step 1: Take L.C.M  6/9 - 1/8

the LCM would be 72 (9 * 8)

Step 2:  Use the LCM to solve the equation

= (6 * 8) - ( 1 * 9) / 72

= 48 - 9 / 72 > > > > 39 / 72 this can be further simplified if you divide the numerator and denominator by 3

> > >  13 / 24 Ans

Hope this helps :)

First you had to cancel by the fraction.

\frac{6}{9}= \frac{2}{3}

\frac{2}{3}- \frac{1}{8}

\frac{16}{24}- \frac{3}{24}

Since the denominators are equal, then you had to combine by the fraction.

\frac{16-3}{24}

Finally, you had to subtract by the numbers.

16-3=13

10+3=13

\frac{13}{24}

Final answer: \boxed{=13/24}

Hope this helps!

And thank you for posting your question at here on brainly, and have a great day.

You are biking at a speed of 18 miles per hour. You are 3 miles behind your friend who is biking at a speed of
labwork [276]

Answer:

12t -3 = 18t

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

d = your friends distance in miles

t = time in hrs

Your equation:

d - 3 = 18t (1)

Because you are 3 miles behind your friend

Your Friend's equation:

d = 12t (2)

To find the amount of time t it takes for you to catch up with your friend,

Substitute (2) into (1)

d - 3 = 18t

12t - 3 = 18t

Equation to find the amount of time t it takes for you to catch up to your friend is 12t - 3 = 18t

Solving the equation

12t - 3 = 18t

Collect like terms

12t - 18t = 3

-6t = 3

t = 3/-6

= -0.5

t = 1/2 hour

Time can not be negative, therefore it will take 1/2 an hour to catch up with your friend
