Select the two prepositional phrases.
poizon [28]

The two prepositional phrases in the sentence below are;

  • For every ten thousand high school basketball players
  • in the NBA

Prepositional phrases are groups of words that start with a preposition and conclude with a noun or pronoun. They act as adjectives and adverbs in the sentence.

The first prepositional phrase acts as an adverb for it answers the question, "How many?"

The second phrase also acts as an adverb because it answers the question, "Where?"

Give 5 detailed sentences on why homework should be optional
AveGali [126]

In my opinion homework should be optional due to several reasons, the first reason is that some people may not be able to do the assignment. Some examples are that they may have a job that requires late hours, or a sports event of which they are depended on or they may have issues at home. Another reason is when people finish school, they may just want to go home and catch up on missed sleep that has been caused by the previous nights homework or getting up really early. If students receive homework from their teachers every night then the lack of sleep or lack of time for chilling out could cause some to lack attention and others could struggle to keep their heads off the desk. Also if homework was optional then the students who are struggling could do it in their own time as practice without worrying about the next nights homework.
