Answer:

a) Electricity = 1.29 kWh

b) Carbon dioxide = 1.4 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A PS4 uses 8.8 watts when on stand-by mode.

a) To find how much  electricity would be used if you have your PS4 on stand-by 21 hours a day for 1 week

In 1 day PS4 is on standby = 21 hours

1 week = 7 days

In 7 days PS4 is on standby = 21 × 7 = 147 hr in a week

PS4 uses 8.8 watts

For 147 hr PS4 uses = 8.8 × 147 = 1293.6 watt-hour

To convert into kilowatt-hour divide watt-hour by 1000

In kW-hr =\frac{1293.6}{1000}=1.2936 \text{kW-hr}

Rounded to nearest hundredth electricity used = 1.29 kW-hr

b) How much carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere to produce this electricity

1 kWh of electricity = 500 g of CO_2

In 1.29 kWh of electricity = 1.29 × 500 =645 gram of CO_2

Now, 1 gram = 0.00220462 pounds

645 gram = 1.42 pounds

Nearest tenth = 1.4 pounds

A. total power usage PS4 in a week = 8.8 watts x 21 hrs/day x 7 days/week
                                                          = (1293.6 watt.hr/week) / (1 kW/1000w)
                                                          = 1.29 KW hr/ week
b. carbon emission = 2.1lb/KW
                               = 1.29 KW x 2.1lb/KW
                               = 2.71 lb

Answer:

Part 1) \frac{a^4}{4b^2}

Part 2) -\frac{v^9}{w^6}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

When divide exponents (or powers) with the same base, subtract the exponents

Part 1) we have

\frac{3a^{2}b^{-4}}{12a^{-2}b^{-2}}=(\frac{3}{12})(a^{2+2})(b^{-4+2} )=\frac{1}{4}a^{4}b^{-2}=\frac{a^4}{4b^2}

Part 2) we have

\frac{v^3w^{-3}}{-v^{-6} w^3} =-v^{3+6}w^{-3-3}=-v^9w^{-6}=-\frac{v^9}{w^6}

What is the first step to finding the sum of 2/7 & 1/4 without a calculator?
Illusion [34]

Answer:

first get a common denominator  by multiplying 7 and 4 to get  28

28 is our common denominator here.

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to add the fractions   2/7 and 1/4

(2/7) * (4/4)   and    (1/4) * (7/7)

(2/7) * (4/4)   +   (1/4) * (7/7) =  8/28  + 7/28 = 15/28

Follow PEMDAS.

Parenthesis
Exponents
Multiplication & Division
Addition & Subtraction

Alright, do multiplication first, then division. Then, do subtraction then addition.

7-1*0+3/3= \\ 7-0+3/3= \\ 7 - 0 + 1= \\ 7 + 1 = 8 \\ 7-1*0+3/3 =8

Hope this helped!
