There would be 4 people, you take the toatal amount of money and the amount that each person paid then divide them and you get 4, so 4 people each paid $6.75=$27

The simple answer is 4 people. 27/6.75 is an even 4 people. Reasoning behind it- However many people went out split the bill evenly, the bill totaled out to 27 dollars. The problem stated that it was split evenly meaning that if each person spent 6.75 the equation would be 27/6.75. I put that into the calculator and got 4 people. Therefore 4 people went out for lunch.

Pythagoras was born about 582 bc. Isaac Newton was born in 1643 ad. How many years apart were they born?
malfutka [58]
B.C. counts down to 0, and that's when A.D. starts counting up. That means you can add 582 and 1643, to get their difference. Pythagoras and Newton were born 2,225 years apart.

A process is normally distributed with a mean of 104 rotations per minute and a standard deviation of 8.2 rotations per minute.
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

Option B) In control as this one data point is not more than three standard deviations from the mean

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Mean, μ = 104 rotations per minute

Standard Deviation, σ = 8.2 rotations per

We are given that the distribution of process is a bell shaped distribution that is a normal distribution.

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

For x = 118

z = \displaystyle\frac{118-104}{8.2} = 1.7073

Thus, we could say that this data point lies within three standard deviations from the mean as:

\mu - 3\sigma < x < \mu + 3\sigma\\104-3(8.2) < x < 104 + 3(8.2)\\79.4 < 118 < 128.6

Thus, it could be said

Option B) In control as this one data point is not more than three standard deviations from the mean

How do you identify the constant of proportionality when given an equation?
STatiana [176]
The constant of proportionality k is given by k=y/x where y and x are two quantities that are directly proportional to each other. Once you know the constant of proportionality you can find an equation representing the directly proportional relationship between x and y, namely y=kx, with your specific k. (i looked up this explanation but not sure if it’s right.. if it’s wrong let me know:) )
