He could do other jobs that were available to him like doing light jobs or muscle work jobs. Like farming, serving, and other similar jobs.

China’s civil service exam started in the Han Dynasty but during the mid-Tang Dynasty there were now changes in the system. It now focused on the classics and literary style instead of technical expertise. The examination’s goal was to mold the country’s political, intellectual and cultural life. It also signified a change from a military aristocracy to a new class of scholars and bureaucrats. Though the system was able to promote cultural unity, some say the system limited creativity and produced officials who would question authority.

Define ]]what is huac and what did it set out to do in the 1940’s and 1950’s?
Burka [1]
HUAC refers to " House Un-american Activities Committee".

In the 1940's and the 1950's, this committee was set to find people who worked as spies for the Russians. This was a difficult task and a difficult time because back in World War II, Russia was an ally to the states, however, at the time, it became an enemy.

Russia stated that the land of Communist a peaceful place where all people lived in harmony. This sounded so beautiful as it was what the Americans dreamed of. The Americans were taken with these statements and never considered the possibility that the Russians were hurting America and the Americans were taking part in this by agreeing to their policy. They thought that they were advancing a Utopian world.

However, history showed them that they were wrong as this committee held hearings.

Later on, Richard Nixon used his frame from this committee to become president.
