The answer is B. This is an Orthodox Icon, it is very beautiful and it is not to show how the Virgin and Christ are painted to show wealth and leadership, although it is unlikely they were wealthy in reality. 
 They were not wealthy, speaking as a Orthodox Christian, we have Icons as a sign of the saints stories. How they never gave in to torture and say that God does not exist. The Icons motivates us to keep going and no matter what happens, we have to stay strong in our faith. I have this icon in my room as a matter of fact haha. Hope this helps!
