Answer:

a. Children with ASD experience profound difficulties relating to others, even when they have average or above-average intelligence.

Explanation:

Autism spectrum disorder( ASD) is a group of neurodevelopmental disorders. People suffering from this disorder have difficulty in communicating and establishing social connections. They can show obsessive behavior and can get triggered by unimportant events like flickering of light, unwrapping of paper etc.

Children with ASD can show varying levels of intelligence. Average, below average and even above average intelligence has been reported. But regardless of the intelligence level they still lack socio-personal skills. They are often not able to guess the meaning of other peoples' actions and face difficulty in decoding their behavior. Some parts of their brain are highly developed and sensitive hence they have some kind of special talent but they can still lack normal functioning due to problem in other areas of brain.

gavmur [86]

Answer: D.) Low Self-Esteem

Explanation:

Cynthia's back story does not provide any evidence to support that she has too many friends or that she is in too many activities.  It explains that she does well in all of her other classes besides Biology, so it is safe to say her lack of confidence is not caused by low intelligence.

So finally, with all of the above in mind, I am lead to the answer being Low Self-esteem.  She does not think she is smart enough to pass her course because she is not confident in herself.

Confidence is key!
