Self-depiction is a very important factor of confidence, happiness, and attitude.

1: It improves self-esteem because the norm expects you to be healthy, active, and fit. You can with confidence walk around showing people you take care of your body. With popular opinion aside, you also personally feel better because you aren't lazy, and you are able to get things done. You also rest easy that you have a lessened chance of health problems.

2: Being physically fit improves and builds relationships, because by being fit, you attract people by showing you are capable of getting things done and being responsible. You look good, which is also a good bonus. It frees up most of what you are able to do. Referring back to question 1, you are able to do more things with less energy, and you are likely to be more involved in life and responsibility. You also can pass on your secrets of a healthy lifestyle to your friends, relatives, or strangers, and help them on their journey.

3: Physical activity and sports are scientifically proven to provide a wide range of lifelong benefits. No question. By being fit, your body has healthy blood flow, you develop muscles instead of fat (which is good for the body), and you have more energy. Overall, your body is happier. Physical body aside, your mental health is also good. Exercising can be an outlet for your mind, whether its thinking or getting your mind off of something. A result of which can help you sleep better. It improves your self-esteem which lowers depression and relieves stress.
