Makayla was taking the trash out to the dumpster behind the bakery where she worked when she heard a loud noise. Just around the

corner she saw her co-worker Narayan kicking at the brick wall and cursing under his breath. She asked him what was wrong, and he told her that his boss had denied his request for vacation even though it had been approved two months before. Narayan was told that due to the recent layoffs, they would be understaffed for the Thanksgiving holiday, and all previously approved vacation requests had been put on hold. Narayan was upset because this meant he would be unable to attend his cousin's wedding, where he was looking forward to seeing his extended family. Narayan's outburst is an example of ________ coping.

Answer:

Narayan's outburst is an example of emotion-focused behavioral coping.

Explanation:

Emotion-focused behavioral coping can be described as certain actions performed by a person as a result of management of stress.

Certain negative emotions such as anger, stress, depression, anxiety etc are reduced when a person performs certain acts. The coping actions can either be positive or negative. For example, certain people indulge in positive actions such as writing when under stress. On the other hand, other people might perform violent acts to combat stress. The same phenomenon was being used by Narayan.

What signals the adrenal glands to produce more of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol and release them into the bloodstream?
marissa [1.9K]

Answer and Explanation:

 • The hypothalamus, i.e., the nerve center produces corticotropin-discharging hormone (CRH) that invigorates the pituitary organ to emit adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH).
 • ACTH at that point invigorates the adrenal organs to make and discharge cortisol hormones into the blood.
 • The sympathetic sensory system conveys driving forces to organs and smooth muscles and advises the adrenal medulla to discharge epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline) into the circulation system.
 • These "stress hormones" results in a few variations in the body, incorporating an expansion in pulse and circulatory strain.
