Sample Response: John Muir makes an effective argument for saving the redwoods. He appeals to logic by giving evidence about the

destruction. He seems very credible because he knows about the history of individual trees. Finally, he makes readers want to save the trees by using strong emotional language throughout. What did you consider in your analysis? Check all that apply.

The options are not included with this question. However, we can still try to understand which factors were considered when writing this sample response. In this response, the author takes into accout the type of rhetorical appeal that John Muir employed. He tells us that Muir used an appeal to logic (<em>logos</em>) when providing evidence about the destruction of trees. He also tells us that Muir used an appeal to credibility (<em>ethos</em>) by showing that he knows the history of individual trees. Finally, the author uses an appeal to emotion (<em>pathos</em>) by using emotional language.

Please help! I’ll make brainliest!! From Captain Preston's point of view what happened during the Boston Massacre
Sergeu [11.5K]

Answer:

I saw the people in great commotion, and heard them use

the most cruel and horrid threats against the troops . . . They

immediately surrounded the sentinel posted there, and with clubs

and other weapons threatened to execute their vengeance upon

him. I was soon informed by a townsman, their intention was to

carry off the soldier from his post, and probably murder him . . .

I immediately sent a non-commissioned officer and twelve men

to protect both the sentinel and the King’s money, and very soon

followed myself, to prevent, if possible, all disorder . . . They soon

rushed through the people, and, by charging their bayonets in half

circle, kept them at a little distance . . . The mob still increased,

and were more outrageous, striking their clubs or bludgeons,

one against the other and calling out, ‘Come on you rascals, you

bloody backs, you lobster scoundrels; fire if you dare
