Answer: Wilson focused first on tariff reform, pushing through Congress the Underwood-Simmons Act, which achieved the most significant reductions in rates since the Civil War. He argued that high tariffs created monopolies and hurt consumers, and his lower tariffs were especially popular in the South and West.

Do you support the electiral college or would you prefer the popular vote to be used to select the president on the next page dr
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

Personally (this opinion could differ for yourself), I am against the electoral college and I am for direct democracy vote.

Explanation:

Having a pure democracy would ensure actual and tangible democracy for which this country claims it holds.

This would prevent gerry-mandering which is used against people of color´s cote often times to take away their vote.

Having an direct democracy would ensure americans to vote for who they actually like, not who they seem who would win and thus make 3rd parties alittle more viable.

What did the colinest do in response to these acts
Andre45 [30]

Answer:    The main colonial response to the Navigation Acts was smuggling.   They did not believe that the acts were just and so they felt justified in breaking them.   They believed that smuggling was not really a crime because the laws were unjust. The Navigation Acts were laws that were meant to enrich England by regulating the trade of its colonies.

What did president johnson's escalation of the Vietnam war and president nixon's involvement in covering up the watergate scanda
MissTica
The escalation of the Vietnam War and the Watergate scandal led to distrust among the public of the American government. Up until the 1960's and 1970's, Americans were typically approving of the government. They patriotically followed President Roosevelt into World War II and praised the government for helping them out of the Great Depression. The government played it relatively safe in the '50's and Americans didn't mind because they were experiencing great prosperity and didn't want to get involved in another major war. By the time the '60's and '70's rolled around, the Vietnam War was a source of contention because people didn't really agree with the war and the government began hiding information and lying to the public to maintain what little support they still had. The real hit came when Nixon became implicated in the Watergate scandal causing the public to mistrust the government even more. Both of these events demonstrated to the American public that the great leaders of America aren't as great as they're played up to be.
