Answer:

37

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the answer be represented by xy  where x is the tens digit and y is the ones digit.

The ones digit of a two-digit number is 4 more than the tens digit.

y = x+4

the sum of that number and the number reversed is 110

xy+yx = 110

Lets rewrite this vertically

 x y

 y x

------

1 1 0

We can replace y with x + 4  I will put the 4's in a separate row up top for ease of writing

 4 4

 x x

 x x

------

1 1 0

Taking the one's column, we get

2x +4 = 0  and I will assume there is a carry of 10

so rewriting

2x+4 = 10

Subtract 4 from each side

2x+4 -4 = 10-4

2x =6

Divide each side by 2

2x/2 = 6/2

x=3

We still need to find y

y = x+4

Substituting in x

y = 3+7

y =7

The number is xy

37

When a spherical balloon is filled with air, it has a radius of 3 inches. Which of these gives the best estimate for the volume
marysya [2.9K]
By definition, the volume of a sphere is given by:
 V = (4/3) * (pi) * (r ^ 3)
 where,
 r: radius of the sphere.
 Substituting we have:
 V = (4/3) * (pi) * ((3) ^ 3) = 113.08 in ^ 3
 answer
 the best estimate for the volume of air in the balloon in cubic inches is

4. An acre is equal to 43,560 square feet, and there are 5280 feet in a mile. If a farm has the shape of a rectangle measuring 0
Zielflug [23.3K]
Area = length x width = (0.8 x 5280) x (1.1 x 5280) = 4224 x 5808 = 24532992 square feet.

43,560 square feet = 1 acre
24,532,992 square feet = 24,532,992/43,560 = 563.2 acre

What is the value of x?
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

\large\boxed{x=8\sqrt2}

Step-by-step explanation:

\bold{METHOD\ 1}\\\\\text{Use the Pythagorean theorem:}\\\\leg^2+leg^2=hypotenuse^2\\\\\text{We have}\ leg=8,\ leg=8,\ hypotenuse=x.\\\text{Substitute:}\\\\x^2=8^2+8^2\\\\x^2=2(8^2)\to x=\sqrt{2(8^2)}\qquad\text{use}\ \sqrt{ab}=\sqrt{a}\cdot\sqrt{b}\\\\x=\sqrt2\cdot\sqrt{8^2}\qquad\text{use}\ \sqrt{a^2}=a\\\\x=8\sqrt2

\bold{METHOD\ 2}\\(look\ at\ the\ picture)\\\\\text{We have}\ a=8.\ \text{Therefore}\ a\sqrt2=8\sqrt2
