Act 1, scene 1 -two Roman tribunes, named Flavius and Marrulus decide to pull decorations off Ceasar's statues. The tribunes are angry that the commoners are celebrating Caesar and believe that the celebrations will go to Ceasar's head. Flavius says 'These growing feathers pluck' d from Ceasar's wing. Will make him fly an ordinary pitch. Who else would soar above the view of men.' The idea of taking Ceasar down and stopping him from flying foreshadows the conspiracy to kill him.

PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

- Socio-emotional selectivity theory.

Explanation:

'Socio-emotional selectivity theory' is illustrated under the life-span theory and described as the human ability to track time and motivate themselves as per the time-horizons. This theory describes that humans tend to shrink their circle of people or shrink themselves as they age and become more selective. They involve in activities or people who are emotionally purposeful.

In the given situation, the Beth's situation(fewer friends in comparison to her young age) exemplify the 'socio-emotional selectivity theory' as it reflects she has motivated herself to a narrowed circle according to time and exhibits 'relative preference' to have 'rewarding associations'(each relationship, deeply satisfying, enjoyable) with people.

Select the correct answer. What is a central idea in the passage?
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

A. The theremin is becoming a newly popular Instrument to play.

Explanation:

The above statement which is on the growing popularity of the instrument is the central idea in the passage. This is because, when the instrument was formed by the Russian physicist, its popularity grew small in the 1920's before it fades away. Later in the 1990's, it was revived with so many composers creating good musics and symphonies using the instrument.
