The answer is 60... Draw a rectangle. Now draw a line that splits the bottom left corner in two but also cuts the long side on the top in half. A rectangle has 4 right angles right? So the bisector, or a line that splits something in half, splits the right angle, a 90 degree angle, in half making it a 45 degree angle. Did you notice the bisector made a triangle?
A triangle has angle measures that always add up to 180 degrees. So you know that triangle has two angles: a 45 and 90 degree angle... Add those up and you get 135. 180-135 gives you the other angle: 45 degrees...
So you know that the triangle is a 45-45-90 triangle... The two legs or side lengths that I marked on the triangle with a small line are congruent in a 45-45-90 triangle and since the short leg of the rectangle is equal to 10cm and the split in half long side of the rectangle is also 10 which you double to 20. 20+20+10+10=60.

ABCD is a parallelogram. If a CDA - 57 then BCD-_?
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

57

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given in the question that length CDA = 57.

Since the shape is a parallelogram, then we know that length AD=BC and AB=CD.

CDA = CD + AD

BCD = BC + CD

Since BC=AD and CD=CD

BCD = BC + CD is the same as CD + AD = CDA

Therefore BCD is the same length as CDA = 57

In other words, CDA is made up of a long side and a short side = 57

BCD is also made up of a long side and a short side, and since the longs sides are equal to each other and the short sides are also equal to each other in a parallelogram, BCD is the same length as CDA = 57.

Hope this helped!

For what values of k the relation R:{(k2 , 5), (3k, 6)} is not a function?
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

k=0 and k=3.

Step-by-step explanation:

To this relation be a function, the horizontal coordinates can't be equal. So, let's find the value of k that makes those coordinates equal.

k^{2}=3k\\ k^{2}-3k=0\\k(k-3)=0\\

Using the null factor property, we have

k=0\\k-3=0 \implies k=3

Therefore, the given relation is not a function when k=0 and k=3.
