Generally, the Earth is divided into spheres which include the "lithosphere" (land), "hydrosphere" (water), "biosphere" (living things), and "atmosphere" (air). The earth is divided into three layers based on chemical composition and these are the core, mantle and crust. In addition, the earth is also divided into physical properties which include lithosphere, athenosphere, mesosphere, outer core and inner core. Based on the given details, we can conclude that the atmosphere cannot be part of the lithosphere but instead, it is classified in a separate layer. The lithosphere only consists the outermost, rigid part of the Earth, which are the crust and the mantle. Hope this answer helps.

What is the altitude of the Polaris for these cities?
notka56 [123]

The altitude of Polaris (the North Star) is always within about
2/3 of a degree of the latitude of the place where you're standing
when you see it.

Look up the latitude of each place on your list.  That angle will be
the altitude of Polaris as seen from that place.

Adelaide, Australia, being in the southern hemisphere, can't see
Polaris at all.

Discuss the importance of site and situation in choosing the location for a city
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

The easiest way to differentiate them is to remember that the site of an area is its exact location and the situation describes its surrounding areas and physical features. Favorable features of site and situation will ensure that the city will be able to thrive and survive.
