Summarize how the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 signaled the end of the medieval chivalric code.
enot [183]

<u>Answer:</u>

The Battle of Agincourt brought an end to the chivalric code as the French realized that the chivalric structure of the army was responsible for their defeat.

<u>Explanation: </u>

  • The already tired army led by Henry V was being directed to Calais in order to reach England.
  • But the English army was confronted by a comparatively large and energetic French army on their way back.
  • It was due to the heavy chivalric structure and the weapons used by the French in the war, they had to suffer a miserable defeat. After this defeat at Agincourt, the French ended the chivalric code.
