Answer:

(a) $1,357,500

(b) $8,700

Explanation:

(a) Predetermined overhead rate:

= Estimated overhead ÷ Estimated machine hours

= $1,250,000 ÷ 50,000

= $25 per hour

Overhead applied:

= Predetermined overhead rate × Actual machine hour

= $25 per hour × 54,300 hours

= $1,357,500

(b)Over applied overhead:

= Actual overhead - Applied overhead

= $1,348,800 - $1,357,500

= -$8,700

(c) The Journal entry is as follows:

Manufacturing overhead A/c Dr. $8,700

To cost of goods sold                         $8,700

(To record the factory overhead into Cost of Goods Sold)

Answer:

Price per share after repurchase = $51.064

Shares remaining after repurchase = 6500

Explanation:

Given the following :

Value of operations = $510,638

Value of T-bills = value of debt = $178,723

Therefore, value of equity = $510,638

Number of common shares = 10,000

Price per share = Value of equity / Number of shares

Price per share = $510,638 / 10,000 = $51.064

Price per share prior to repurchase is the same as price per share after repurchase.

However, number of shares repurchased equals;

$178,723 / $51.064 = 3499.99 = 3500 shares

Number of shares left after repurchase :

Totals shares - shares repurchased

10,000 - 3500 = 6,500

morpeh [17]

The given statement is True.

Ashish agrees without putting up much fight. James takes advantage of the fact that Ashish is sleep deprived and will be more likely to engage in unethical behavior.

Explanation:

Ethics are the rules, regulations, principles, that govern a person's behavior or affect how people conduct an activity.

Ethics are something that will be evaluated on the basis of either right or wrong. If a person chooses something which is right, he is exercising ethics.

So when James takes advantage of Ashis's sleep deprivation and forced him to do something which is not right, then this is an unethical behavior. But not only James is engaged in unethical practice, Ashish is also responsible for this unethical conduct, because he should have fought for the right, rather than accepting the James's order because of his sleep deprivation and avoid indulging in a conflict with him.
