The Aztecs have evolved and developed together with their technology. They had agricultural breakthroughs such as irrigation and cultivation of crops such as maize. The spread of this cultivation supported economic development and social diversification. This led American Indians to develop agriculture and provide a stable food supply promoting growth of population. The increase in population fostered more advanced civilizations and American Indian settlement into North America.
