The correct answer is C) Jerusalem.

Jerusalem was part of the Byzantine Empire in 565 AD and 1360 AD.

When looking at the attached map, we can clearly see that the dominion of the Byzantine Empire was vast an extended to Europe, Asia, and some parts of North Africa. The map indicates the territories under control of the Byzantine Empire and one can explain its wealthy and powerful hand over their subjects. The Empire could have raw materials, naturals resources, and goods that were traded with other nations. Important nations and territories were under the rule of the Byzantine Empire such as Italy, the Balkans region, Asia Minor, Middle East places like Damascus and Jerusalem, Egypt and the coastal places in North Africa.

Jerusalem... in this time period it included regions in northern Egypt (where Jerusalem is) and an extremely small portion on the western edge of the Arabic peninsula, and then in 1020 the empire included Jersulem. Around 1360 the empire expanded yet again to include Rome. Cordoba, to my knowledge, was not ever included in the Empire

Why did the Allies capture so few Japanese soldiers when they attacked Iwo Jima?
ycow [4]
As is known by history buffs and most people, the Japanese were a very honorable civilization. They worked hard to win, and when all else failed, they committed suicide. Not the type of suicide you think, no, they would "Kamikaze." This meant that all else had failed. It included the individual taking his/her life to try one last time to kill the enemy.

I have a well-known example for you. During some major ocean operations, the Japanese would fill their planes with bombs and then dive into the ships. This was a trend with the Japanese, and the soldiers would do almost the same.

Hope this Helps! :)
