Answer

Find out the  how many women were there .

To prove

Let us assume that the x is the scalar multiple of men and women.

As given

The ratio of men to women was 3 : 2.

Than

The total number of men = 3x

The total number of women = 2x

As given

If 120 men used the gym.

thus

120 = 3x

x = \frac{120}{3}

x = 40

The total number of women = 2 × 40

                                               = 80

Therefore 80 women were there in the gym .

Fergus has 3 1/4 cups of oats

= 13/4 cups of oats

Oatmeal bars = 2 2/3

= 8/3 cups of oatmeal used

Therefore cups of oats left = 13/4 - 8/3

= 39/12 - 32/12

= 7/12 cups of oats left

She borrowed 1 cup of oats from neighbour

7/12 + 1/1

= 7/12 + 12/12

= 19/12 cups of oats

Blueberry oats muffin = 1 3/4 cups of oats

= 7/4 cups of oats

Total she will have now = 19/12-7/4

= 19/12 - 21/12

= - 2/12

= -1/6

Which means she needs 1/6 cup of oats more

Therefore its option 4

What is an equation for a sine curve with amplitude 2
Naya [18.7K]

ANSWER

y = 2 \:  \sin(x)

EXPLANATION

A basic sine curve has equation in the form:

y = a \:  \sin(x)

Where 'a' is the amplitude.

In this case a=2 because the amplitude is 2.

y = 2 \:  \sin(x)

For a transformed sine function, the general equation is:

y = a \:  \sin(bx + c)  + d

where a=2 is still the amplitude

y = 2 \:  \sin(3x + \pi)

This is also a sine function with an amplitude of 2.

Others include:

y = 2 \:  \sin(x + 1)

y = 2 \:  \sin(4x - \pi)
