Can you explain what poems are you reading then?
You have to put many references in the answers. For example, for imagery, you have to find adjectives (such as dim, foggy) that depict the scene and quote them in the answer. Repetition is basically repeating a phrase to emphasis something or convey a message. Same goes to the rhythm, which gives the poem its flow and effect.

Themes are the main topic of the poems, and there's many different kinds. For example: family, death, love conquers all, these are some of the most common themes.

Where does john steinbecks "the chrysanthemums" take place?
Solnce55 [7]

Salinas Valley

The story takes place in the Salinas Valley in December at Henry Allen's ranch in the foothills. Immediately, we're placed in a rural setting, where women are isolated and men are manly. One thing we might note here is the contrast between Elisa's closed-off Salinas Valley and the world of the tinker.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a great day/night, may God bless!
