Answer:

The deficit in 2011 is $11 million

Explanation:

For computing the deficit or surplus, first we have to find out the national budget debt or surplus which is shown below:

= Budget surplus in 2008 + budget deficit in 2009 + budget surplus in 2010

= $304 million - $452 million + $109 million

= - $39 million

And, the national debt is $50 million

So, the deficit would be equal to

= National budget debt + national debt

= -$39 million + $50 million

= - $11 million

butalik [34]

Answer:

1) Expected return is 12.12%

2) Portfolio beta is 1.2932

Explanation:

1)

The expected return can be calculated by multiplying the return in a particular state of economy by the probability of that state occuring.

The expected return = (0.32 * -0.11) + 0.68 * 0.23

Expected return = 0.1212 or 12.12%

b)

The portfolio beta is the the systematic riskiness of the portfolio that is unavoidable. The portfolio beta is the weighted average of the individual stock betas that form up the portfolio.

Thus the portfolio beta will be,

Portfolio beta = 0.33 * 1.02 + 0.2 * 1.08 + 0.37 * 1.48 + 0.1 * 1.93

Portfolio beta = 1.2932

IgorC [24]

Answer:

Option (D) is correct.

Explanation:

Total Overhead Cost:

= (Overhead × Number of cases) for all products

= (20 × 350) + (25 × 550) + (17 × 650)

= 31,800

Total Machine Hours:

= Machine hours × Number of cases

= (5 × 350) + (3 × 550) + (4 × 650)

= 6,000

Overhead Rate:

= Total Overhead Cost ÷ Total Machine Hours

= 31,800 ÷ 6,000

= 5.30

Total product cost per case for Product GC:

= Direct Material + Direct Labor + Overhead

= 80 + 30 + (Machine hours × Overhead Rate)

= 80 + 30 + (3 × 5.3)

= 80.00 + 30.00 + 15.90

= $125.90

________ is the ability to raise prices above the level that perfect competition would produce by restricting the quantity suppl
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

Market Power

Explanation:

Market Power is the ability of firms to raise price above the level of perfect competition price. Perfect Competition charge Price = Marginal Cost, Imperfectly, other imperfect markets charge price > MC.

This power is used by imperfect market structures - monopoly, oligopoly, monopolistic competition. They can use this power because -  they have control over market price, as they comprise a significant part of market supply. Eg : Monopolies usually use 'artificial scarcity' model to maintain a surplus in market & charge higher prices.
