The prior and the foremost mission of EPA is to safeguard the environment and human health. Right from the start of its initial day, protecting the environment and ensuring a healthy population has been a major goal of EPA. It exhibits a strong history of involving stakeholders like tribal, state, and local agencies, along in its work.  

In order to strengthen association and engagement with public health professionals at the state and local levels, the EPA's Office of Research and Development is cooperating with various partners, which comprise the American Public Health Association, The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, The National Environmental Health Association, The National Association of County and City Health Officials, and The Association of Public Health Laboratories.  

These associations are demonstrating positive influences. As functioning with these partners, EPA is enhancing outreach and training for local public health professionals on the influences of cardiovascular health and air pollution and various other things.
