The flags are a translation. Both flags are located at different origins, so it couldn't be a rotation. Both flags have the colors in the same place ( black on the bottom, white on the top) so one flag was moved up or down from the other flag, which is a translation.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The flags are a translation. Both flags are located at different origins.The object is not altered in any other way. It is not rotated, reflected or re-sized .In translation, every point of the object must  move in the same direction and  the same distance.

Please help!!<br> Each pair of polygons is similar. Find the value of x.
Simora [160]

Answer in fraction form: x = 55/4

Answer in decimal form: x = 13.75

Both forms are equivalent, but they say it in a slightly different way.

===========================================================

Work Shown:

AC/QY = CD/YW

(x+5)/15 = 5/4

4(x+5) = 15*5

4x+20 = 75

4x = 75-20

4x = 55

x = 55/4

x = 13.75

------------

Explanations:

  • The first step is possible because the polygons are similar. Similar figures have their corresponding sides be in the same proportion or ratio. Note how side AC has the double red angle (at point A) and a single red angle (point C). The side QY has the same idea in the same order. This is why AC corresponds to QY. The ratio AC/QY is the same as CD/YW.
  • In the second step, I plugged in the expressions that the diagram shows. This is the substitution property.
  • On step 3, I cross multiplied. The general format is A/B = C/D cross multiplies to A*D = B*C.

Jonah runs 3/5 miles on Sunday and 7/10 miles on Monday.He uses the model to find that he ran a total of 1 mile. What mistake do
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer: He did not convert the fractions into the like fraction to add.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The distance Jonah runs on Sunday= \frac{3}{5} miles

The distance Jonah runs on Monday= \frac{7}{10} miles

The total distance he ran = \frac{3}{5}+\frac{7}{10}\ miles

Since both the fractions are not like , thus multiply 2 to the numerator and the denominator of the first fraction [to add fractions first convert them into like fractions], we get

The total distance he ran = \frac{3\times2}{5\times2}+\frac{7}{10}\ miles

=\frac{6}{10}+\frac{7}{10}=\frac{6+7}{10}\\\\=\frac{13}{10}=1\frac{3}{10}\ miles

The right answer is "The total distance he ran =1\frac{3}{10}\ miles"
