Connecting words or transition words help the reader understand a shift in ideas. Or to understand the connection between two points. I hope this was helpful! If it was, please make sure to tell brain.ly by making my answer the brainliest

Explanation:

Connecting words are also called the Transitions. Transitions are used to connect paragraphs, or sections of a text or speech. Connecting words are used to show relationships between the texts within the same sentence or within the same paragraph or between two paragraphs etc. Examples of connecting words are however, thus, so, on the other hand, rather, or, nor, yet, in spite of, despite the fact, etc.

Connecting words are important in writing because they establish a relationship and connection between the paragraphs or different sections of the speech. They show a continuity in the writing. Using such words are preferred when there is a need to make a connection of the new text with the previous one.

Read lines 15-17 from the poem, "Storm Warnings."
Sauron [17]

Answer:

Based on the lines, the two interacting central ideas of the poem are:

B. Events happen in life regardless and often contrary to one's attempts at prediction, and we cannot stop troubles but instead just protect ourselves.

Explanation:

"Storm Warnings" is a poem by Adrienne Rich in which the speaker analyzes how little we can do in terms of predicting and changing the outcome of things. She has instruments to help her see time and weather, but she "know[s] better than the instrument." She did not need a weather glass to know a storm was coming. Also, the weather glass may warn her, but it cannot do anything to protect her. She must protect herself.

The same idea can be extended to life in general. Having a clock does not mean we are masters of time. Life events will come, independently of how well we can foresee them, and there is not much we can do to stop them. All we can do is protect ourselves: ". . . the wind will rise, / We can only close the shutters."

With that in mind, we can choose letter B as the best option.

How does the term prodigy apply to waverly? To her mother?
Oxana [17]
The word prodigy applies to Waverly due to her being especially good at chess, or whatever it was she does. Her mother's point of view on prodigy is being the best she can be, and the term applies to her mother by not being quite as smart as her daughter.

Nikitich [7]

Answer:

The given quote means that Malcolm doubts if the people will really want him to be king of Scotland after Macbeth. He thinks that when his <em>"confineless harms"</em> are compared with the acts of Macbeth, then "<em>black Macbeth Will seem as pure as snow</em>" to the people.

Explanation:

This speech by Malcolm in the play "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare is from Act IV scene iii. The scene shows Macduff and Malcolm in conversation, with Malcolm telling his friend that he did not trust him and thinks he may have been a spy for Macbeth.

But aside from all these, Malcolm expresses his concern about himself and wonders if he is rightfully fit to rule Scotland. He exclaims "<em>my poor country  Shall have more vices than it had before,  More suffer, and more sundry ways than ever,  By him that shall succeed.</em>" Macduff tried to convince him by telling him that "<em>Not in the legions  Of horrid hell can come a devil more dam ned  In evils to top Macbeth.</em>" The given quote excerpt in the question is Malcolm's doubts about himself and his reluctance to take after Macbeth as king of Scotland, for he fears that the people will compare him to Macbeth and find that his (Malcolm) sins and evil deeds are far more worse than Macbeth's.
