Studies have shown that there is a relationship between the type and location of boundaries and the distribution and depth of ea

rthquakes along or near these boundaries. Many earthquakes, shown in the map as wide bands, occur along convergent areas. These areas experience varying depths of earthquakes. Where would oceanic-oceanic convergence most likely occur? Nazca plate converging with the South America plate, forming the Andes mountains Philippine plate converging with the Pacific plate, forming Mariana Islands in the Pacific Ocean Juan de Fuca converging with the North American plate, forming the Cascade mountains North America Plate converging with the Eurasian Plate, forming a mid-ocean ridge

Answer:

Philippine plate converging with the Pacific plate, forming Mariana Islands in the Pacific Ocean

Explanation:

Oceanic convergence is the process resulting from the impact generated by the collision of two oceanic plates. This impact causes the heavier plate to sink to the point of being below the less heavy plate. The stronger the impact, the lower the heavier ocean plate will descend and the further it descends, the more it will be heated by the earth's mantle. As this plate is heated, the materials that melt and are incorporated into the mantle that increases in volume to the point of creating cracks in the terrestrial surface. This is how volcanic islands are formed, as well as cracks, similar to trenches on the seabed, are also created. Most of these volcanic islands are located in the Pacific, in the most easterly region. A strong example of this type of phenomenon is the Mariana Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

46. Viewed through a spectroscope, sunlight produces a(n) A) Absorption spectrum B) Continuous spectrum C) Emission spectrum D)
Natalka [10]

Answer:

B) Continuous spectrum

Explanation:

 • The optical spectrometer is an instrument used to analyze the properties of light over a specific period of time, over a specific part of EMS.
 • The independent variables usually the wavelength of light. A spectrograph is usually a multi-channel detector of light.
 • A continuous spectrum usually measures the values of the condition of some physical quantities. Such as energy or wavelengths, a continuous system often may be considered as a discrete spectrum.

Describe deep sea trenches and abyssal plains and their relative ages.
Serga [27]

Oceanic Trench or Deep Sea Channel, it is a narrow, long and having a sharp inclination depression in the lowermost deep-sea in which happen the extreme oceanic depths. They normally form in places where once the structure of the earth's crust plate is forced below the edge of another. While Abbysal plain is a beneath the surface of the water plain on the deep ocean floor, typically found at depths approximately 3,000 meters and 6,000 meters. It is in a horizontal position largely between in a mid-ocean ridge and a foot of a continental rise. Almost 50% of the Earth’s surface was sheltered by Abbysal Plains. They are the smoothest and flattest and not so discovered areas on Earth.
