The Emancipation Proclamation was dubbed as a great beacon of hope because it freed black men and women from slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation was a monumentous document that came into effect on January 1 1863 and which essentially declared "that all persons held as slaves are, and henceforward shall be free".

Answer: Short Story

Explanation: A short story helps to further connect a reader's understanding of the story. It helps the reader connect to the story through a variety of ways. For example, John reads a novel about Ronaldo, and it may talk about the experiences that Ronaldo had to endure in order to become the soccer player he is. There, John can relate to Ronaldo through a series of his own experiences.
