as AB || DE then

angle BAE = angle AED

so angle AED = 70

as AD = AE then

angle AED = angle ADE = 70

now in a triangle

angle DAE + Angle ADE + angle AED = 180

angle DAE + 70 + 70 = 180

angle DAE = 180 - 140 = 40

20 POINTS !!!!!! Determine whether side-side-angle (SSA) is a valid means for establishing triangle congruence. In this case, yo
Dahasolnce [82]

It's not valid because there are too many unknown quantities, meaning there is not exactly one triangle that could exist for any given SSA combination.

For a visual example, see the attached image below.

It's fairly obvious that b\neq b'. One is acute, the other is obtuse. In the triangle on the right, the dashed side has the same length A as in the triangle on the left. This dashed side and the actual side A form an isosceles triangle with congruent base angles b'. The angles b and b' are supplementary (they add to 180 degrees), or (b')^\circ=(180-b)^\circ.

Now by the law of sines, in the first triangle,

\dfrac{\sin a^\circ}A=\dfrac{\sin b^\circ}B

and that in the second triangle,

\dfrac{\sin a^\circ}A=\dfrac{\sin(b')^\circ}B=\dfrac{\sin(180-b)^\circ}B

but we also know that \sin(180-x)^\circ=\sin x^\circ. Hence \sin b'=\sin b.

Two different angles in this arrangement allow for two different triangles to be constructed, so having a SSA correspondence between two triangles is not enough evidence for their congruence.

One day a store sold 36 sweatshirts. White ones cost $10.95 and yellow ones cost $11.50. In all, $404.65 worth of sweatshirts
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

17 white sweatshirts were sold and 19 yellow sweatshirts were sold.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let <em>w</em> represent the number of white sweatshirts sold and <em>y</em> represent the number of yellow sweatshirts sold.

We can write a system of equations to represent the situation.

Since the store sold a total of 36 sweatshirts, the sum of the white and yellow sweatshirts must total 36. So:

y+w=36

And since each white sweatshirt cost $10.95 and each yellow sweatshirt cost $11.50 and the total profit was $404.65:

10.95w+11.5y=404.65

Solve the system. I'll use substitution this time (though elimination will work just as perfect). From the first equation, subtract <em>w</em> from both sides:

y=36-w

Substitute this into the second:

10.95w+11.5(36-w)=404.65

Distribute:

10.95w+414-11.5w=404.65

Simplify:

-0.55w=-9.35

Divide both sides by -0.55:

w=17

So, 17 white sweatshirts were sold.

Using the modified equation, substitute:

y=36-(17)=19

Therefore, 17 white sweatshirts were sold and 19 yellow sweatshirts were sold.

How many triangles exist with the given angle measures?
sesenic [268]

Answer:

The answer would be one triangle. it is only one triangle because the sum of the angles of any triangle have to equal 180°. So if you add all of the angles you gave us, that would equal 180°.

I hope that was the answer you were looking for.
