You have lost the sensation, but not movement, in one of your hands due to a problem with your spinal cord neurons. Based upon t
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer:

A sensory neuron.

Explanation:

The nervous system can be divided in two systems: the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system (CNS) is composed by the brain and the spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system (PNS) consists of the nerves and ganglia. Neurons are specialized cells that form the basic functional unit of the nervous system. There are three types of neurons: sensory, motor and interneurons. The sensory neurons are in charge of bringing signals into the CNS, and the motor neurons are in charge of carrying signals out of the CNS. The interneurons act as intermediaries, passing information between two neurons.

As the name implies, sensory neurons are activated by the senses, for example: sound, visible light, physical contact (heat and cold), chemical signals (smell and taste). The loss of sensation in one hand would be the result of a damaged sensory neuron.

satela [25.4K]
The answer is C. Genetic Isolation.

Genetic isolation occurs when there is no genetic exchange between organisms of the population or species. One of the reasons that cause genetic isolation is geographical separation. The reason why some species of koalas are only found in Australia and lemurs in Madagascar is that they cannot mate with other species outside of their geographical boundary.

How does cell size and shape influence the diffusion of molecules into and out of the cell?
d1i1m1o1n [39]
A large surface area plays a major factor for diffusion and also osmosis at some point. The larger the surface area, the more molecules are able to diffuse in and out of the cells. Think of it this way. You have 2 containers. One container have a length of 5cm by 5cm. Another container you have a 10cm by 5 cm. You have a bucket of water. Por the water into the container, it would be more easier to pour it into the 10 by 5 without spilling right. Thats because it has a larger surface area compared to the other container. Hence, the size and shape affects the influence of diffusion.
