Magna Carta means the great charter. It is one of the most famous documents of the world. It was issued by the king john as a solution to the political crisis which he faced in 1215. According to Magna Carta everybody including the law was subject to the law. Some of the fundamental values of the document challenged the autocracy of the king. It also demanded that no taxes could be levied without the general consent of the masses.
