There are many ways in which we take short means to understand something as fast as we can. When we want to understand something but depend on what comes to mind first in order to understand it that is know as availability heuristic.
Let us say you want to decide on something many things come to mind all at once in your mind and you end up thinking these are frequent event when compared to others. You end up overestimating the probability of that thing happening again in the future. So what ever comes to mind at that moment you make conclusion based on it.
