Leon uses a pressure gauge to measure the air pressure in one of his car tires. The gauge shows that the pressure is 220 kilopas

cals. The temperature is 297 K, and the outdoor air is at standard pressure. If the tire contains 4.8 moles of air, what is the volume of the tire?

The volume of the tire is 37 L.

Leon is measuring the <em>gauge pressure</em>. The <em>actual pressur</em>e is gauge pressure plus atmospheric pressure.

Standard atmospheric pressure is 1 bar = 100 kPa, so

<em>p</em> = (220 + 100) kPa = 320 kPa

<em>pV = nRT </em>

<em>V</em> = (<em>nRT</em>)/<em>p</em> = (4.8 mol × 8.314 kPa·L·K⁻¹mol⁻¹ × 297 K)/320 kPa = 37 L

A 3.0 L solution contains 73.5 g of H2SO4. Calculate the molar concentration of the solution.0.25 M0.44 M0.75 M4.0 M
notka56 [123]

The molecular mass of H_2SO_4 is:

2·1 + 1·32 + 4·16 = 98 g/mol

The amount of solute, expressed by mol, is:

73.5\ g\ H_2SO_4\cdot \frac{1\ mol}{98\ g} = 0.75\ mol\ H_2SO_4

The molar concentration definition is: M = \frac{mol\ solute}{volume (L)\ solution}

Doing the calculations:

M = \frac{0.75\ mol}{3\ L} = \bf 0.25\ M

2. Determine the molarity of the NaOH solution in each trial. a. Trial 1 Molarity: b. Trial 2 Molarity: 3. Calculate the average
butalik [34]

Answer:

This question is incomplete

Explanation:

This question is incomplete but...

1) You can calculate the molarity of the NaOH for each trial by following the steps below.

The formula for Molarity (M) is

M = number of moles (n) ÷ volume (V)

where the unit of volume must be in Litres or dm³

The unit of molarity is mol/dm³ or mol/L or molar conc (M)

The final answer must have the unit of molarity

If the number of moles is not provided, look out for the mass of NaOH used and then calculate your number of moles (n) as

n = mass of NaOH used ÷ molar mass of NaOH

Where the atomic mass of sodium (Na) is 23, oxygen (O) is 16 and hydrogen (H) is 1. Hence, molar mass for NaOH is 23 + 16 + 1 = 40 g/mol

n = mass of NaOH used ÷ 40

2) Average Molarity will be (Trial 1 Molarity +Trial 2 Molarity) ÷ 2

Answer must be in mol/dm³ or mol/L or M

3) Label the volumentric flask containing the NaOH solution with the answer gotten from (2) above

What reaction would be the chemical equation 2H2O-&gt;2H2+O2 represent? A.decomposition of water b. Formation of water c. Combus
vodka [1.7K]
It's decomposition
A combustion reaction involves carbon dioxide so it can't be that
The water is not being formed
The water is not replaced by the other molecules
So it is decomposition, not just from process of elimination, but also because decomposing water means heating it.

Explain why copper is used for the<br> roofs of some buildings and magnesium is not.
Scrat [10]

Answer:

Because of the less reactivity of copper.

Explanation:

As well as being resistant to the elements and thereby less likely to be affected by rainfall, hail, and mildew than other types of roofing, copper is also one of the most fireproof materials available. Copper is also highly resistant to thermal changes and thereby doesn't deteriorate quickly.

Magnesium would also corrode PDQ. Magnesium sheeting would also pose an unacceptably high fire hazard.
