According to Hobbes, the primary purpose of the social contract is to reduce liberty. Thomas Hobbes was an English philosopher and is best known for his work in political philosophy. He and was one of the supporters of the Enlightenment idea and thought that people are naturally selfish.

I appreciate the vigorous nature in which Syracuse University encourages communication and pursues varied perspectives on life and learning. All the while, maintaining the highest standards of research to advance not only the Syracuse University atmosphere, but contribute on a much larger scale for all of humanity. 

At this time, I may not know exactly where I will be in 10 or 20 years, but I know that with the education I receive from Syracuse University, I will always have a sound foundation the encourages rigorous thinking to positively contribute to humankind on both a local and global scale.
