Well there are many reasons. One reason being is that they did not have very good roads. Also their usual mode of transportation were horses which are not fast and tire easily if you are going long distance. Also the terrain in Greece is rocky and mountainous. That also makes travel difficult

How did the events of the 1980s and 90s help to achieve, maintain, and/or threaten world peace
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

The events of the 1980s and 1990s helped to maintain world peace were the Persian Gulf war, the Iran-Iraq war, Lebanon war, the bombing of Libya, and the last stage of the cold war.

Explanation:

These events were the major events that allowed world peace to be kept in between the 1980s and the 1990s, however, they did it because they threatened it. It is very complicated, but the reasons are that these weren't high scalation conflicts, they were local conflicts and didn't clash the major party's that could trigger a world conflict directly. They only participated indirectly, by providing support to the participating party's.

During conversations with non-native 1 speakers, you should
kvasek [131]
First of all, you should gain an understanding of their level of English, many non-native Speakers actually have a native level of English.

If you feel that your speaker struggles to understand you, you should speak clearly, not use slang or short forms (cannot rather than can't, going to rather than gonna) and use more simple words.
