A friend slides a box along a flat floor to you, which you slow by applying a force at a 30° angle. Is the work you do to slow t

he box positive or negative? If you instead placed a book directly on top of the box as it passed you, what can you say about the work done by the book?A) Positive, Positive work doneB) Positive, Negative work doneC) Negative work, Positive work doneD) Negative work, No work done

Answer:

D) Negative work, No work done

Explanation:

As we know that work done is given as

W = F.d

here we know that

F = force

d = displacement

when the force and displacement are at acute angle with each other then the work done is positive and due to this the mechanical energy will increase

While in other case when the force and displacement are in opposite direction or at obtuse angle with each other then the work done is negative and it will decrease the mechanical energy

Now if the force and displacement are at perpendicular direction then the work done must be ZERO

so here we know that when we push against the motion to slow it down then the work done is negative while in other case when book is placed on it then force is perpendicular to the displacement so the work done is ZERO

an object of mass m is rotating about a fixed axis with angular momentum l. its moment of inertia about this axis is i. what is
Tems11 [23]

The Kinetic energy would be 1/2IL².

What is Rotational Kinetic energy ?

 • Rotational energy also known as angular kinetic energy is defined as: The kinetic energy due to the rotation of an object and is part of its total kinetic energy. Rotational kinetic energy is directly proportional to the rotational inertia and the square of the magnitude of the angular velocity.

As we know linear Kinetic energy = 1/2mv²

where m= mass and v= velocity.

Similarly rotational kinetic energy is given by = 1/2IL²

where I- moment of inertia and L=angular momentum.

How does nuclear fusion produce energy
prisoha [69]
The fusion reaction that is easiest to accomplish is the reaction between two hydrogen isotopes: deuterium, extracted from water and tritium, produced during the fusion reaction through contact with lithium. When deuterium and tritium nuclei fuse, they form a helium nucleus, a neutron and a lot of energy.

What is 34 + (5) × (1.2465) written with the correct number of significant figures?
bonufazy [111]

Answer: 40

Explanation:

= 34 + 5 * 1.2465

= ‭40.2325‬

= 40

The number of significant figures in the answer should be the same as the number with the least number of significant figures that any of the digits in the equation have.

32 has 2 significant figures so the answer has to be 2 significant figures which is 40.
