Taylor is making a mini apple pie with a radius of 3.14 in for her math class. what is the area of her mini pie?
artcher [175]

So First of all we need to know how to find the area of a circle.

Assuming that the apple pie is the shape of a circle

The formula for area is \pi r^{2}

Well we know that the radius = 3.14

And we know that \pi = 3.14 as well.

All we have to do is multiply..

3.14 x 3.14^{2} = 30.95

So the area of the pie is 30.95 in

Good Luck! :)

A standard deck of playing cards has 52 cards total that contains 13 of each suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades). What is
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

C 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 4 suits, 2 suits are  red (hearts and diamonds) while 2 are black (clubs and spades)

Since 13 cards are in each suit, 26 cards are red ( 2 * 13)

There are 52 total cards

P (red) = red cards/ total cards

           = 26 / 52

           = 1/2

What is the value of x which proves that the runways are parallel? What is the measure of the larger angle?
makkiz [27]

Answer:

118°

Step-by-step explanation:

When two parallel lines are cut by a tranversal, then the exterior angles are supplimentary and the corresponding angles are congruent.

Therefore the angle above (15x - 17)° is also (5x + 17)° and the angle below (5x + 17)° is also (15x - 17)°.

Angles on a straight line adds up to 180°. So to know the measure of the larger angle we must both equations and equal it to 180° to find x in order to know the larger angle.

(5x + 17) + (15x - 17) = 180

5x + 15x + 17 - 17 = 180

20x = 180

20x/20 = 180/20

x = 9°

Nkw let's substitute x = 9 into the equations

5x + 17 =

5(9) + 17 =

= 62°

15x - 17 =

15(9) - 17 =

= 118°

Both equations should add up to be 180°.

Therefore the measure of the largest angle is 118°.
