Certain car manufacturers install a gauge that tells the driver how many miles they can drive until they will run out of gas. A

study was conducted to test the accuracy of these gauges. Each driver was assigned a certain gauge reading until empty to watch for. When their car announced it had that many miles remaining until empty, they began to measure their distance traveled. After they ran out of gas, they reported the distance they were able to drive (in miles) as well as the gauge reading they were assigned (in miles). Here is computer output showing the regression analysis: Regression Analysis: Distance versus Gauge Reading Predictor Coef SE Coet Constant -0.7928 3.2114 -0.2469 0.8060 Gauge 1.1889 0.0457 26.0310 0.0000 B = 7.0032 R-39 = 0.9326 2-3q(adj) = 0.9312 Identify and interpret the slope of the regression line used for predicting the actual distance that can be driven based on the gauge reading.

If two sides of a triangle measure 12 and 7, which cannot be the perimeter of the triangle?
ser-zykov [4K]
Hi,
Let assume x the 3th side.
x<12+7==> x<19
12<x+7==>x>5
So 5<x<19==> 5+7+12<x+7+12<19+7+12
==>24<x<38

A new aircraft control system is being designed that must be 98.0% reliable. This system consists of two components in series.
sweet [91]

Answer:

98.99%

Step-by-step explanation:

The combined reliability of both components must be 98%. Given that both components must be functional and have the same reliability 'r', the minimum value of 'r' that meets the system requirements is given by:

0.98 = r^2\\r=0.9899=98.99\%

The level of reliability required for each component is 98.99%.

Triangle P Q R is shown. The length of P Q is 17, the length of Q R is 15, and the length of P R is 14. Law of cosines: a2 = b2
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

P = 57°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following :

PQ = 17

QR = 15

PR = 14

Using the cosine formula since the length of the three sides are given:

a2 = b2 + c2 – 2bccos(A)

To find P:

QR^2 = PQ^2 + PR^2 – 2(PQ)(PR)cos(P)

15^2 = 17^2 + 14^2 – 2(17)(14)cos(P)

225 = 289 + 196 - 476 cosP

476*CosP = 485 - 225

476*CosP = 260

CosP = 260/476

CosP = 0.5462184

P = Cos^-1(0.5462184)

P = 56.892029

P = 57°
