In order to test the effectiveness of the debate of the candidates for the president, researchers randomly contacted 1000 people

on the phone. An attempt was made to contact all 1000 one day before the debate and ask their voting intentions. Only 910 were actually reached by phone; 80 out of the 910 people refused to participate. One day after the debate, 810 of the 910 people were reached and again asked their voting intentions. In addition they were asked if they had seen the debate on television. The before-after change of the viewers and non-viewers were compared to conclude which candidate was more effective in the debate. What kind of experimental design is being used? Describe relevant potential extraneous variables in this experiment. Can this experiment design rule out these extraneous variables?

kolezko [41]

Answer:

The revenue should not be recognized because of the unusual and subjective terms under which the buyer has the right to return the product.

Explanation:

If a buyer of goods has the right to return a product, the transaction is considered a sale with a right of return. When regular sales are made under these terms and there is a reasonable basis for estimating returns, revenue from the sale ought to be recognized and an allowance for returnsshould be established.

However, when the  rate of returns cannot be reasonably estimated, revenue is not recognized until the right of return expires. Even though the goods were shipped in 2015, until the buyer accepts the goods or the right to return them expires, revenue would not be recognized.

lidiya [134]

Answer: A midlatitude cyclone has passed to the north of the location.

Midlatitude cyclones (extratropical cyclones) are low pressure systems outside of the tropics. Air in the cyclone moves counterclockwise around a low pressure center.

Cyclones move eastward in the Northern Hemisphere carried by prevailing winds.

Cyclones last several days to a week.

It is depicted as an "L" on the weather map, cyclones bring rain and wind to an area.

Cyclones are fueled by the temperature differences (hence pressure gradients) that exist along frontal boundaries. They are usually strongest during cold months when temperature differences between air masses can be most extreme.
